You'll be joining a team with a set of mature, business-critical systems and will be expected to understand them deeply, identify opportunities to modernize and reduce complexity, and execute those improvements with confidence and care. </p><h3>Key Responsibilities </h3><p>You will ensure that every byte of product usage is accurately captured, transformed, and monetized, directly impacting the company’s bottom line. </p><p>You will have a seat at the table for architectural decisions as we transition our data pipelines. </p><p>Work with AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, and other data lake and ETL tooling, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and availability for cross-system reporting </p><p>Bring modern patterns (Hexagonal Architecture, DDD) to modern Laravel (v11+) codebase </p><p>Integrate and maintain connections between internal systems and third-party platforms (billing, CRM, payment providers, etc.) </p><p>Maintain and evolve customer-facing account management UIs built with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React </p><p>Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and sprint ceremonies </p><p>Collaborate with remote teammates across time zones via video conference and async communication </p><h3>Nice To Have </h3><p>Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code </p><p>Experience with CPQ/billing platforms such as Zuora </p><p>Experience integrating with CRM/CPQ platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce </p><p>Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes) </p><p>Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Pulumi, etc) </p><p>Familiarity with Scrum/Agile or Kanban methodologies </p><h3>Why This Role?</h3><p>This group sits at the intersection of nearly every system at Wowza — if data moves, we're involved. If you enjoy untangling complexity, building things that last, and working with a collaborative team that values pragmatism over hype, this is a great fit. </p><h3>Requirements</h3><p>8+ years of professional software engineering experience </p><p>Strong hands-on experience with modern PHP and the Laravel framework </p><p>Solid understanding of relational databases (MySQL or similar) and data modeling </p><p>Extensive experience with data engineering lifecycle (ingestion, lake formations, ETL) </p><p>Extensive experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, or similar)</p><p>Experience building and maintaining REST API integrations with third-party platforms </p><p>Skilled with front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, and React </p><p>A track record of inheriting legacy systems, assessing technical debt, and executing pragmatic improvements </p><p>Strong written and verbal communication skills — you can articulate tradeoffs clearly and build consensus </p><p>Self-directed and comfortable working as part of a geographically distributed team </p><p>Originally posted on <a href="https://himalayas.app">Himalayas</a></p>
