</div><h3>Responsibilities:</h3><ul><div>
<li>Define and design the <strong>target architecture</strong> of the Renovate solution</li>
<li>Design a scalable operating model capable of supporting tens of thousands of GitLab repositories</li>
<li>Architect self-hosted Renovate, distributed workers/runners, job scheduling and caching</li>
<li>Design solutions for GitLab API and external registry rate-limit handling</li>
<li>Develop an automated repository discovery and onboarding approach</li>
<li>Define and maintain central, version-controlled Renovate configurations and shared presets</li>
<li>Establish update strategies, grouping rules, time windows and auto-merge policies</li>
<li>Ensure security and compliance requirements, including secure credential management and least-privilege access</li>
<li>Define and implement prioritisation of security-relevant and CVE-driven updates</li>
<li>Establish monitoring, logging, dashboards and operational KPIs</li>
<li>Plan and coordinate the rollout: <strong>pilot → rollout waves → full coverage</strong>
</li>
<li>Own project planning, roadmap, prioritisation and rollout management</li>
<li>Coordinate stakeholders across GitLab platform operations, Security, development teams and management</li>
<li>Perform technical reviews of the implementation and make key architectural decisions</li>
<li>Coach and support engineers throughout the implementation</li>
<li>Contribute to documentation, guidelines and developer enablement/training</li>
<li>Work hands-on on prototypes and critical technical implementation questions</li>
</div></ul><h3>Requirements:</h3><ul><div>
<li>Several years of experience as a <strong>Solution Architect, Lead Architect or Senior DevOps Engineer</strong>
</li>
<li>Strong experience with <strong>GitLab</strong>, preferably in large-scale environments</li>
<li>Practical experience with <strong>Renovate</strong> or a comparable automated dependency management solution</li>
<li>Strong DevOps and CI/CD background</li>
<li>Experience designing scalable, distributed and highly automated solutions</li>
<li>Solid understanding of infrastructure and platform architecture</li>
<li>Experience with APIs, authentication, credential management and security best practices</li>
<li>Experience with monitoring, logging and observability</li>
<li>Proven project management and stakeholder management skills</li>
<li>Ability to operate effectively as both a <strong>technical lead and project manager</strong>
</li>
<li>Hands-on and solution-oriented mindset</li>
<li>Fluent English</li>
