About this role
<h3>JOB DESCRIPTION</h3><p>Your role will be to develop code ensuring that it meets the defined criteria<br>for software testing, and produce software builds for loading onto target<br>hardware from software source code within <a href="https://himalayas.app/companies/vas-x">VAS-X</a> system development and<br>producing integration test specifications as per project plans.</p><p>Your role will also include conducting the tests as defined in the<br>specifications and recording any failures, followed by FAT test results for each<br>function developed and finally producing system integration reports.<br>Due to the business-critical nature, you may occasionally be required to work</p><h3>outside of regular working hours.</h3><p>The incumbent’s job description is not limited to the following;</p><h3>ABOUT YOU</h3><ul>
<li>Diploma/Degree in Engineering, Customer Service</li>
<li>Management or Business Management.</li>
<li>A minimum of 5-year applicable experience Grade 12</li>
<li>Standard literacy</li>
<li>English: read, write and speak IT Degree or Diploma</li>
<li>In-depth Java knowledge, including J2EE, Spring, CAMEL and associated technologies</li>
<li>Experience and knowledge in CSS and HTML</li>
<li>Working knowledge of operating systems, including Linux</li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of SQL and industry-standard databases</li>
<li>Understanding and working knowledge of J2EE containers</li>
<li>and web servers A thorough understanding of Software Development Life Cycle.</li>
<li>Thorough Rabbit MQ / ActiveMQ working experience</li>
<li>Experience in Scrum/Agile methodologies.</li>
<li>Well versed in Docker and Kubernetes deployments.</li>
<li>Strong Problem-solving skills and accurate forecasting of effort required and closing timeframe.</li>

</ul><p>RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:</p><ul>
<li>Work closely with the development team to create, build, and uphold dependable and effective code, utilizing the appropriate Java framework or Oracle PL/SQL and Apex as per the solution requirements.</li>
<li>Understand and translate business requirements into data models and structures using MSSQL/Oracle/MySQL/Postgres databases.</li>
<li>Write complex and optimized SQL queries to support application data needs</li>
<li>Working on the deployment, installation and configuration of software releases.</li>
<li>Use Git for effective version control and collaborative coding.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot and debug software applications, resolving any issues that may arise.</li>
<li>Provide assistance with technical support requests.</li>
<li>Support software solutions post-implementation, addressing and fixing any bugs or issues that may occur.</li>
<li>Document all software solutions, ensuring a comprehensive record of all systems and applications.</li>
<li>Participate in quality reviews and undertake testing as needed or directed.</li>
<li>Facilitate UAT sessions with the customer.</li>
<li>Conduct testing using tools like Postman to ensure application functionality and performance.</li>
<li>Utilize Bash/Linux for various tasks including script writing, system administration, and server management.</li>
<li>Actively seek to learn and upskill, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and new technologies.</li>
<li>Attend conferences and workshops as required.</li>
<li>Participate in cross-service activities and projects as required.</li>
